$1,000,000+ for the family of prominent news reporter

Zaremba Brown recently obtained a significant settlement on behalf of the Estate of Paul Smith and his wife. Paul Smith was a decorated veteran and helicopter pilot who manned ABC News’ “Chopper 7”. Mr. Smith tragically died when he was struck by an “out of control” taxi cab which jumped the curb in front of the restaurant where Mr. Smith had just finished celebrating a family member’s birthday. Following the settlement of the underlying case, our attorneys obtained an additional $750,000 settlement on behalf of Mr. Smith’s widow relative to the medical care she received immediately following the accident. It was our contention that she had suffered nerve damage leading to a “drop foot” as a result of medical malpractice.
